Objectives of Yoga Club
  • To raise student awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga practice.
  • To integrate students' body, mind, and thoughts, promoting positive and purposeful outcomes.
  • To enhance flexibility, strength, and balance, while reducing stress and improving overall well-being of both the mind and body.
  • To foster mental clarity and calmness, increase body awareness, and alleviate chronic stress patterns.
  • To relax the mind, center attention, and sharpen students' concentration, enhancing focus in their academic pursuits.

The Yoga Club and Biolumina Association of the PG and Research Department of Biochemistry at Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science jointly organized a programme on "Nutrition and Dietetics - 2024" on 9th September 2024. Dr. K. Kavitha, Associate Professor from the PG and Research Department of Foods and Nutrition, Vellalar College for Women (Autonomous), Erode, served as the resource person. She provided valuable insights into the significance of nutrition and dietetics for different groups, including infants, adolescents, and lactating women. Dr. Kavitha also highlighted the importance of exercise in achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Yoga Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science organized a programme on “Student Induction Programme and International Yoga Day Celebration” on 21st June 2024 for all first-year students. Dr.C.Sengottuvel, Assistant Professor in the PG and Research Department of Commerce at Salem Sowdeshwari College, served as the resource person. He emphasized the importance of yoga for both physical health and mental well-being of students. The session included a practical demonstration, where Dr.Sengottuvel taught students the basics of various yoga asanas.

Yoga Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore, organized an induction programme on “Yoga for Well-being” on 2nd August 2023. The resource persons, Swami Nandhakara and Mrs.Birundha, Erode Coordinators of Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore, highlighted the significance of yoga for students' physical and mental well-being. The programme included a practical yoga session, conducted by volunteers from the Isha Yoga Centre, where students were guided through various yoga techniques.

Yoga Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Erode, observed the 8th International Yoga Day 2022 with a special programme on 21st June 2022,titled "Yoga for Humanity", held on 18th June 2022. Mrs.P.Sumathi, Assistant Professor at Erode Manavala Kalai Mandrum, Erode, served as the resource person for the event. She highlighted the significance of yoga in promoting holistic well-being and demonstrated pranayama techniques to the students, guiding them through the practice.

PG and Research Department of Biochemistry

at Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Erode, jointly organized a webinar to observe International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021, titled “Role of Yoga in the COVID-19 Pandemic”. Mr.M.K.Janaki Raman, Chief Advisor-Projects at WCSC, Aliyar, was invited as the Chief Guest for the programme. The resource person elaborated on the significance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing its role in strengthening the immune system and reducing stress.
