The Blood Donors Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Ellispettai, Erode, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre and Erode Sakthi Lions Club, organized an impactful "Awareness on Blood Donation" event on 08.08.2024. During the program, Mr.K.R.Venkatachalam, M.Sc., M.Phil., Director of the Tamil Nadu Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre, Erode, emphasized the critical importance of blood donation and inspired students to contribute voluntarily. His motivational speech not only underscored the life-saving significance of blood donation but also encouraged a positive shift in students’ attitudes toward blood transfusion, fostering a culture of altruism and civic responsibility.
The Blood Donors Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Ellispettai, Erode, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre, Erode Sakthi Lions Club, and Tamil Nadu Government Hospital, successfully organized the "Blood Donation Camp – 2024" on 09.08.2024. This innovative event saw 70 students step forward to donate blood, making a significant impact by saving lives in the community. By integrating technology, real-time donation tracking, and awareness campaigns, the event not only facilitated life-saving contributions but also fostered a future-focused approach to healthcare, encouraging regular and responsible participation in blood donation. The camp highlighted the importance of youth engagement in vital causes, paving the way for a sustained, community-driven approach to healthcare.
The Blood Donors Club of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Erode, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre, Erode, and the Blood Bank at the Government Headquarters Hospital, Erode, successfully organized a life-saving "Blood Donation Camp" on 29th August 2023 at the college campus in Ellispettai, Erode. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 65 student volunteers and staff members, who collectively donated blood, significantly contributing to the community's healthcare needs. By integrating innovative outreach strategies and utilizing technology for real-time donation tracking, the camp not only facilitated essential blood donations but also raised awareness about the ongoing need for voluntary blood donations. This initiative exemplified the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of social responsibility and community service.
The Blood Donors Club, along with the PG and Research Department of Biochemistry, Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science, Ellispettai, Erode, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Voluntary Blood Bank and Research Centre and Erode Sakthi Lions Club, successfully organized the "Blood Donation Camp – 2022" on 28th October 2022. During this impactful event, 51 students and 4 faculty members generously donated blood, making a vital contribution to saving lives. A renowned doctor addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the donated blood would be used to save the lives of the injured and critically ill, reassuring everyone that the donation process would not weaken the donors, as recovery is swift and seamless. He also dispelled common myths surrounding blood donation and shared valuable insights on blood groups, highlighting the importance of blood type compatibility and the crucial role of voluntary blood donations in modern healthcare. The event promoted an informed, responsible approach to blood donation, encouraging continued student and staff engagement in such life-saving initiatives.
